Not too much progress has been made tracing our Babcock Family. The problem lies in finding Calvin's parents. It is suspected they could be Jacob Babcock and Mary Feeble.

On 09 November 1852, Calvin gave Jacob 87£ 10s for a mortgage on lot 48, concession 3, Camden Twp. (SE¼). The 1851 Census shows Jacob and Mary living on this property. On 08 November 1852, Jacob bought 60 acres on lot 47, concession 2 for 75£. The next day, Jacob mortgaged this property to Calvin for 87£ 10s. The 1851 Census shows Calvin and Jane living on this property.

So, it is felt that there must be a family connection considering these transactions and ages would be right for father and son (Jacob bn. 1799, Calvin bn. 1825).
